Friday Night Lights to Celebrate 10th Anniversary at ATX Television Festival

Texas Forever! Our favorite group of Dillon Panthers is reuniting in Austin, Texas this summer to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show’s NBC premiere.

The ATX Television Festival announced today that the reunion, happening in – where else – a Texas football field, will be the centerpiece for this year’s festival. Complete with tailgating activities, pep rally, and photo ops, the reunion will also feature a showing of a fan-favorite FNL episode. Cast and crew in attendance have yet to be announced, but judging from past years, expect a lot of familiar faces back!

ATX Television Festival also announced panels/screenings for Hulu’s Casual, Lifetime’s UnReal, The CW’s Jane the Virgin, and TV Land’s Younger as well as a writer’s room reunion for The O.C. That reunion will see show creator Josh Schwartz, writer/exec. producer Stephanie Savage, and writer Leila Gerstein reunite to discuss the teen-favorite show. A reading of the show’s pilot is also planned, although participants have yet to be announced. If it’s anything like last year’s Dawson’s Creek pilot reading (with a gender-bent Mae Whitman as Dawson and Patrick J. Adams as Joey), it’s sure to be a fun time for fans of the show.

Previously announced programming for the television-centric festival include an Everybody Loves Raymond reunion with cast and producers as well as a writers room reunion for The Shield. Norman Lear will receive the ATX Award for Television Excellence.

The festival takes place June 9–12 in Austin, Texas.
